Nedved Close To Juve Extension?

Juventus' hero in last night's match, Pavel Nedved, looks set to sign a contract renewal with the Bianconeri.

Juventus traveled to Bologna anticipating a tough encounter and that's exactly what they got. The hosts did well and were close to salvaging a point in the final stages of the game, but veteran midfield maestro Pavel Nedved was on hand to score a brace for the visitors and win them the game.

A goal in each half from the Czech midfielder could not be cancelled out by what would prove a mere consolation goal from Marco Di Vaio, allowing Juventus a deserved 2-1 win over Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium. The win puts the hosts' coach under increasing pressure after yet another loss, whilst alleviating some from the tired shoulders of Juve boss Claudio Ranieri.

Juventus Negotiate For Modric - Reports

Juventus are ready to make a January loan move for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric and they have sent representatives to North London to speed up the deal, according to Tuttosport...

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their squad during the winter transfer window and with so many injuries in the middle, a top midfielder is priority. Juventus have made contact with Spurs having sent a representative to North London to begin negotiations.

Modric has popped up on the Old Lady's radar and the club is expected to make a move for him. The Croatian international was outstanding during the 2008 European Championship but he has not been too great since moving to White Hart Lane in the summer.

Juande Ramos hardly played Modric during his time on the bench but this has changed since Harry Redknapp took over as the Croatian has played in both of Tottenham's last two matches.

Real Madrid Clashes Could Seal Ranieri's Future

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri's future at the club is far from secure, despite the latest claims from president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli that he will not be replaced during the season.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, Ranieri's future with the Old Lady could be tied to the results that his team manages to produce in the coming weeks.

The Bianconeri will face some very difficult opponents in Serie A, including Napoli, Torino and Roma, but what would really be decisive is the results that the team will obtain in the Champions League in the double clash against Real Madrid.

Defeats will most likely sway Cobolli Gigli to take a drastic decision which the Juventus fans seem to be favouring following the latest negative results and poor performances.
